It’s OK to smart small, as long as you start!
From Small beginnings, big things come….
Fifteen years ago on 25 September 2004, which happened to coincide with the beginning of the current 20 year Age of 8 cycle, I went to a seminar run by a friend of my much loved masseuse, Judy Smith. She had often talked about her friend Melynda Munro, a Feng Shui Consultant who lived in Melbourne. Melynda often stayed with Judy and her husband Alan (my chiropractor) when she came to Sydney. Judy told me about a weekend seminar Melynda was going to run in Sydney and that it might be something I would be interested in. Luckily for me, I went.
Attending this course piqued an interest that has now become a passion which I know will last a lifetime  – Chinese Metaphysics. Over the coming years I read multiple books on the subject of Feng Shui and finally in 2008 I enrolled in a Certificate IV of Feng Shui with the Australian College of Environmental Studies – the only Australian accredited course on this subject. Not only did I learn about Feng Shui but I learnt about Space Clearing Ceremonies, testing and fixing geopathic stress, building biology and the effects of mould, dust, chemicals and electrical and magnetic fields in our environment and Chinese Astrology. My thirst for knowledge has never been quenched and I continue to study each and every year, honing my skills and building up my knowledge to enable me to help clients who the universe sends my way.
I registered my business on 24 September 2009, 5 years to the day since starting my journey with Melynda. It has now been an amazing 10 years of running my successful consultancy, Feng Shui Harmony. One of the highlights of my 10 year career was being awarded the title of Feng Shui Master by the International Feng Shui Association in 2017. Another important part of my journey was the friendships I made along the way, too numerous to mention here. My business partner Liz Wiggins has always been there and we’ve worked on some major residential and business developments together along with running our online shop

I’ve travelled around the world attending conferences, courses and visiting clients with the highlight being my visit to China in 2015 which enabled me to finally connect with the place where this amazing subject was born.
I was asked to present at the National Conference held in the Gold Coast in 2017 on “How to run a Successful Feng Shui Consultancy”. One of my recommendations was to keep track of all of the consultations and work you do in your practice so you can confidently assert your expertise when prospective clients ask you about your experience and also use it for marketing purposes. I have just finalised the latest data for the last 2 years and added it to my cumulative totals and come up with some amazing numbers which I thought I’d summarise as follows;
·      1660 Feng Shui consults (residential and business)
·      128 building plans assessed for new homes to be built
·      419 Chinese Astrology reports
·      114 hours of professional organising (clearing clutter)
·      55 space clearing ceremonies
·      387 various reports for date selection, placement of fire, geomancy, selling real estate, finding romance, fertility, logo development etc
GRAND TOTAL – 2763  ……………  and I plan to crack the 3000 mark in 2020.
Huge thanks to my husband Greg who has been with me every step of the way and my children Byron and Jade who have put up with me putting weird things in their rooms and moving their desks and beds around.  To Melynda, thanks for sparking my interest in this subject all those years ago and for teaching me some amazing formulas that have helped so many of my clients.
Finally, to all my teachers, colleagues and clients over the last 10 years, I want to give you my heartfelt gratitude and thanks for all you have taught and shared with me. I hope that the next 10 years will be as fulfilling as the last.
